Mooseman Half Ironman -before the race....

Below are some more details of the day before the big day:

We drove to New Hampshire and arrived in time for a glass of wine on the patio before race day. A little wine and cheese is my kind of pre-race necessity! The weather was beautiful in Ashland, NH and the forcast for race day was looking good.

The day before the race, Tristan and I went to the lake to check -in and go for a swim in the lake.

You will notice that I still have a smile on my face here. I hadn't stepped in to the water yet. The water was a frigid 59! Holy Cold! I have NEVER swam in water this cold. As you put your face in the water it almost instantly shocked your system. I suppose others may be fine swimming in this "refreshing" water, but if you know me...you know I get cold easily and don't like the feeling!

This photo is after the swim. Notice my grin is not as large...I'm cold....brr...

This is what I have ahead of me....

  1. I congratulate you both for taking "the plunge". Is there not a tattoo you are supposed to get now? And yes....wine after the race is a good idea too. Can't wait to see the photos.
